Sterlynge Vayle Schola, Binghamton, NY - January 27, 2007
Let the Word go forth from the Industrious (and Insane) Shire of Sterlynge Vayle that once again we will be hosting a Sterlynge Schola at Trinity Memorial Church, 44 Main Street in the Mundane City of Binghamton, NY.
Unlike past Scholas, this one will be in the Dead Time of late January--Specifically January 27, 2007 CE.
The Gate will open at 9:00 AM and the site will close at 6:00 PM. Anyone found wandering the Halls and Corridors will be enthralled by the Shire until the site is cleaned to the satisfaction of the Vergers of Trinity.
THL George Anne has agreed to serve as Chancellor of the Schola and a challenging series of classes has been promised. If you are interested in offering a class please contact THL George Anne at: Georg-Karen Hawks.
A Day Board will be available so that no one will go away hungry or miss an essential class. For Dietary Concerns, you may contact Lady Mariana Maria Pietrisanti.
Fees for this day of Learning, Conversation and Gossip will be $8 per adult; $5.00 for 12-18 years; $3.00 for Children 5-11 years and Free for children under 5. As always we will collect the $3.00 non member fee at the Gate. Please do not send the fee with your reservations.

Exit 5 which serves Broom Community College and Downtown Binghamton empties into Front Street/US rte 11.
Turn Left on Front Street drive south to the intersection of Front
Street and Main Street. Turn Left on Main Street drive one block.
Trinity Church will be on you right, turn right on Oak Street parking is available in the parking lots on your right.
Academy of St. Julian, Pittsburg - February 17, 2007
Saint Julian, the patron saint of minstrels and wandering musicians,was known for offering hospitality to weary travelers. This winter, in the same tradition, the Barony-Marche of the Debatable Lands welcomes you in from the cold for a day of music and dance!
This event will be a music and dance schola, featuring classes on a variety of musical subjects, as well as dance instruction. In addition, there will be musical performances including an appearance by the barony's own Debatable Choir. The evening will conclude with a ball in the William Pitt Union's beautiful ballroom, with music provided by the Debatable Consort. There will also be a Middle Eastern dance area. And there are rumors that those rascals from I Genesii may even make an appearance for a dance or two!
Delicious food will be available all day from a sideboard presented by the BMDL Cooks' Guild under the supervision of THL Michelina Cenomani da Trento. The site Is dry, so no alcohol please.
The event will be held on February 17, 2007, from 12:00 noon to 10:00pm at the William Pitt Union on the University of Pittsburgh main campus, in the Ballroom, Kurtzman Room, Dining Rooms A & B, and room 511. The address is 3959 Fifth Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15260.
The site fee will be $7.00 (including the all-day sideboard). Children ages 6-12 shall be half price, and children under 5 get in for free.
The nonmember surcharge will apply. Due to site policy, there will be no advance reservations taken. All money will be collected at the door. Make checks payable to "SCA Inc. - BMDL".
However, if you plan to attend please let us know, so the cooks will be prepared! Contact Lady Helewys Spynnere and indicate that you are coming. Any questions should be addressed to the autocrat, Lord Clemente de Warrewyk. Gentles with special dietary requirements are requested to please contact THL Michelina Cenomani da Trento at least two weeks prior to the event.
If you are interested in teaching a class or making a musical performance at the Academy of St. Julian, please contact the class coordinator, THL Brandubh O Donnghaile or the autocrat.

... from the East: Cars traveling from the east via the Pennsylvania Turnpike (I-76) should take Exit 57 to I-376 West. From I-376 (the "Parkway East") take Exit 3B (Oakland) onto Bates Street. Stay on Bates until it ends at Bouquet Street. Turn left onto Bouquet, then right at the first light onto Forbes Avenue. The William Pitt Union will be on the left after one long block. The entrance is on the opposite side of the building, on Fifth Avenue.

Forbes Avenue leads into the Pitt campus.
Parking is available on the street (please bring quarters for the parking meter!), or in the Soldiers and Sailors parking garage, right across Fifth Avenue from the William Pitt Union. The parking garage is located underground, under the Soldiers and Sailors Hall lawn. The entrance is off of Bigelow Boulevard.

The Shire of Kings Crossing is proud to\ announce that it will be having its 5th Annual Day at the Faire Demo, which will be held from 11:00 until 5:00 on Saturday, February 17, 2007 at the Washington Mall in Washington, PA.
You may have heard about our previous demos, and this one should prove to be even larger than in the past, since we will have more space to hold this demo (almost the whole mall). We will be offering two heavy weapons tourneys, a fencing demo, lots of A&S displays, room for performing arts, all day dancing and merchants of all types. The address is 3959 Fifth Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15260.
With all this happening, and the 500+ visitors to the mall to see us, we could use everyone's help to fill the mall with SCA activities. So all you fighters, fencers, artisans and merchants come out and show the Known World what we do. Set up will start at 9:00 am and we will be tearing down following the final activities for the day.The autocrat for the demo is Eldjarn Bildr. If you wish to be a merchant at the demo, please contact our merchant liaison Lord Ulfrhinn svarti Juzki for more information. There are no fees for attending this demo, but please check in at the Chatelaine Pavilion. The directions to the demo are simple:
From the North and South of Washington, PA take your best route to Interstate 79
From the East and West of Washington, PA take your best route to Interstate 70
Take the interstate to the Interstate 70-79 junction to exit 19, Route 19 south, Murtland Ave. and get in the most right hand lane at the light at Oak Spring Rd. this will force you into the mall parking lot, you may park anywhere in the parking lot but please got to the center court area to sign in.
College of Three Ravens, Palmyra, NY - February 24, 2007
The Barony of Thescorre is pleased to announce The College of Three Ravens to be held on February 24, 2007, at the Western Presbyterian Church, 101 East Main Street, Palmyra, NY (phone: 315-597-9171). The hall opens at 9 AM and closes at 9 PM. The site is very dry, non-smoking & all flames must be enclosed. The site is not handicapped accessible.
The College theme for this year is: "Everyday Life in the Middle Ages".
The autocrat for the event is Baron Fridrikr Tomasson. The Chancellor for this year's College session is Lady Bronwyn ni Gregor.
The cooks for the event are: Lunch, Lady Kadlin Sigvaldiskonna; Feast, THL Bryn ni MacRose & Baroness Oilivia d'Anjou. Feast is limited to 100.
Reservations clerk & Tollner for the event is Baroness Orianna Fridrikskona.
Fees for the College are: adult on-board, $14.00; adult off-board, $8.00; youth on board (ages 5-17) $7.00; youth off-board $4.00; those under 5, free of charge. Checks may be made payable to "SCA---Barony of Thescorre". The NMS will be enforced. Those adults who are not members or do not have proof of membership will be charged $3.00. You may send proof of membership with your reservations.

Take your best to the NYS Thruway (I-90) to exit 43, Palmyra/Manchester. Turn left (North) onto Route 21. Follow Route 21 to Palmyra NY. At the intersection of Routes 21 & 31 in Palmyra, proceed across Route 31 and turn right into the church parking lot. Look for the SCA signs!
Blackstone Raid 16, Ripley, W. VA. April 29, 2007
Greetings to the citizens and friends of Aethelmearc
Come join the Barony of Blackstone Mountain for its Sixteenth Annual Blackstone Raid. This year the event will occur at The Cedar Lakes Conference Center in Ripley, West Virginia. The site will open at noon on April 26 and close at noon on April 29, 2007. Every day will be filled with fighting, fencing, archery, and an arts and sciences triathlon. On Saturday there will be a sumptuous feast to delight one and all.
For more information you can contact the co-autocrats Lord Kire MacUrsus, and Lord Ivan Darykson. For information on fighting please contact Lord Grimarr Bjorn. Fencers may contact Lord Richert Parion. For archery contact Baron Johannes von Solingen. Cost for this four day event is $20.00 for adults, $10.00 per child (6-17) under 5 is free. Non members will also be charged the $ 3.00 NMS. Feast is $11.00 for adults and $6.00 for children 6 to 17. There will be a family cap for feast and event fees, please check the web site for more information. Dorm beds are $6.00 per person per night. Camping is $1.00 per night per person. We invite one and all to a full day of Tournaments and Competitions – Heavy Weapons, Fencing, Equestrian Arts, Thrown Weapons, Archery, Arts and Sciences, and Bardic Performance - all will be put to the test, with special awards for Tourney/Competition winners, and the naming of the Endless Hills’ Baronial Champions! The Tournaments and Competitions are open to all, but the Baronial Champions will be selected from Barony members who compete. Inspections for all competitions begin promptly at 8:30 AM! Lunch and Feast
We will serve a tavern-style luncheon, prepared by Lady Dawn de La Lune, charging a paltry $2.00, ($1.00 age 5 and under, babes in arms free!). Evening Feast will be potluck-style. The Barony will be providing the meat dishes for a Potluck Feast, and request each family attending to sign up with the Feast Coordinator to bring a simple dish of 15 servings to share in a disposable container, with all ingredients listed on a 3x5 card. Those who don’t bring a dish will be charged $5.00 per person, age 13 and up, to partake of feast. Feast Coordinator is Lady Barbary Rose (Barb Gable), reachable at the same address and phone number as the Chief Autocrat.
