It’s cold outside. Grey, snowy, windy, blustery, slushy, toes-freezing, nose-numbing, bone-chillingly and joint- & muscle-stiffening just bloody COLD outside. It’s definitely “curl up with a book by the fire and hibernate until War Practice” weather.

And yet… we’ve noticed that the sun is peeking over the horizon when the alarm goes off, that it isn’t completely dark when we leave work at night. We know that in two weeks, it will be Seven Deadlies, then C3R a week after that, then it will be Ice Dragon before we know it and… dare we whisper it? Spring. Wet, muddy, rainy, slushy but blessedly WARM spring.

While we wait, let’s keep moving so the cold doesn’t feel quite so brutal. Go to fighting practice, go to thrown weapons, go to archery or fencing and work up a good, fun sweat. If you’re not into martial activities, go to one of the monthly dance practices to get your body warmed up. After all, you don’t want to be rusty come springtime, do you? <smile>

As noted earlier, the College of Three Ravens is fast approaching. Please contact Bronwyn ASAP if you have a class idea. Please consider helping out with something during the day, whether it’s sitting at troll, setting up or cleaning the site, clearing the tables, washing dishes, or serving dinner. And don’t forget there’s dancing planned after feast!

Finally, we warmly thank Spyke and Siggy, past knight marshal and past chatelaine, for their dedication to the Barony for the past several years. We salute Dubheasa and Bronwyn for agreeing to continue on in their roles as chatelaine and mistress of lists. Lastly, we express our gratitude to Vettius for stepping up as the new knight marshal. Vivant to all! Your willingness to serve allows the Barony to continue.
