The February business meeting (Curia, Feb. 20) will be held at our house because the Adams St. Center is closed. We had a good discussion of recruitment at the last business meeting, and I’d like to continue that at this one. In order to have more time for that, I’d like to keep the officer’s reports short. I ask officers to submit their reports in writing; that way they don’t necessarily have to be given verbally at the meeting. If you are an officer and you can't attend the meeting, please send or phone in a report sometime soon.
Also, would all officers and their deputies who are attending the meeting please bring their membership cards or some other proof of membership? I’ll photograph them to include in the Seneschal’s file. Vettius, I already have yours.
Offices
Lord Vettius is our new Knight Marshal. His term will end in January of 2009. Vivats and Bob Reaf to our outgoing Knight Marshal, Lord Spyke, for his dedicated service.
Policies and Procedures
There still aren’t any proposed changes to our Baronial Policies and Procedures that would need to be considered at the Curia.
Events

Katrina is indeed developing a Pax bid. However, tax season is keeping her extra busy so it has not been presented yet.
Kingdom Curia
The Kingdom Curia held the day after 12th Night was a short one. The crown proposed the change to the Kingdom Policy that enables Great Officers to be reimbursed for reasonable travel expenses. This subject had been discussed in some detail at the Kingdom Curia held after War Practice, and now there is some text to go with it.
The need for new Heirs thrones was mentioned, as were several ideas for the improvement of the Kingdom camp at Pennsic were touched on – a new field pavilion, and period-style tables for camp. There was also a suggestion for local groups to have their own set of Royal Thrones.
Yours in Service,
Peregrine |
