| Wonderful weather, great shooting, fighting, throwing, fencing, and a delicious dinner… Pax Interruptus was a thoroughly enjoyable event! It marked the second year in a row that Thescorre’s thrown weapons champion—this time, Ye Jing Ying—won the interbaronial Seven Pearls competition. We thank last year’s champion, Athos, for running the tourney and we thank Timothy for scoring the enjoyable annual tourney. The event also marked Eric’s return to heavy fighting after a decade, and many made this possible. Besides the recognition we gave to Vettius and Wulfstan in Court, we wish to thank House Trillium for offering both shelter and snacks for those attending the event, and specifically we thank Sorcha for watering and caring for both of us during the day. Finally, we thank all the fighters who represented Katja in the fun baronesses tourney: Edmund, Eo, John the Pell, Spyke, Rowan, Frescha, Callidus, Ronan, James, Julian, and Matthew. We thank all the warriors of Thescorre who took baldrics that from us in order to represent the barony in the various martial activities at Pennsic: Yasmina, Artemis, Phillipe, Alina, Carlo, Julianna, Ulric, Cedric, Emma, Sarah, Fridrikr, Orianna, Una, Katriona, Timothy, Vettius, Wulfstan, Ronan, Spyke, Edmund, James, Camire, Nicholas, Khalek, and Sorcha. If any other archers, throwers, fencers, fighters, or waterbearers wish to wear our baldrics at War, please see us at any of the local practices or meetings we attend before Pennsic. Lastly, we thank those who contributed to the pageantry of Court: we thank our guards (Ye Jing Ying, Yasmina, Eldjarn, and Spyke), our retainers (Donal, Edmund, and James), and our drummers (Carlo, Juliana, Dehka, Eldjarn, etc.), as well as Pleasance for running a great Court—thunderstorm included! In other news, we wish to congratulate Portia for her stunning cover for the June Aestel, a gorgeous red escarbuncle design celebrating our kingdom’s first decade. Vivat! Other industrious  Thescorreans—Mairghread, Matilda, and Una—contributed great artwork to the July issue, not to mention several previous issues. Vivant! Finally, congratulations to Teresa for creating beautiful newsletters month after month. Vivat!We plan to attend the second week of War, and expect to hold Baronial Court on Monday night at 7 p.m. in Thescorre Camp. We expect that we will be asked to help guard the Royal Encampment soon, and we will post that day and ask for volunteers as soon as we know the day.
