The gates will open at 5:00PM on Friday August 31, 2007, and the site closes at 12:00 noon on Monday September 3, 2007. At this event we will choose our new Baronial archery champion, as well as hold a tournament to decide the Seven Pearls archery champion. There will be Royal Rounds, Advancing man, Clout and Novelty shoots to test archers of all skill ranges. The children are asked to defend our lands from the attacking monsters which inhabit our woods. All tournaments will take place on Saturday, September 1st. The site is wet, however we encourage domestic beers to be bought from the bar. We welcome merchants, please contact the autocrats as merchants are outside and space is limited, if you just show up, there might not be any space available. Wood for campfire / bonfires can be bought on site. On Saturday, September 1st, there will be a chicken bar-b-que, corn, salt potatoes, and baked beans for $8.50 per person (There will only be pre-paid reservations and need to be received by August 24.)
Lord Edward the Grey (Greyledge Archery/Diana’s Shaft Shop) of the East Kingdom will be joining us for a 3 day, August 31st – September 2nd, long bow making class. On the third day you can walk away with a bow of the poundage of your choice and the knowledge of how to make them. If you are interested in the class please contact the autocrats before the August 17th, about supplies and FEES. There will be other classes to be determined later.
It is rumored that Baron Ryan’s Beer and Ale Brewing Round Table and Challenge may occur at Wildwood, so come. So if you would like to brew and have a sampling before you leave then this is something that you might want to partake in. Let’s see if the rumors are true. There might be other classes available. |

Summers End: A Sicilian Festival and Post Revel
Saturday Sept 8, 2007
Canton of Beau Fleuve, Niagara Falls NY
Come, pass the brimming glasses,
And let us toast from morn till night
As we listen to the playing of the flutes,
Life can only be enjoyed under Sicilian Skies.
Umar the Sicilian from Butera c1130 Butera
The Canton of Beau Fleuve invites you to take part in the Sicilian festival The "Pulio di Normani" celebrating the Normans invasion of Sicily. We offer a full day of tournaments, activities and atmosphere inspired by the festival as well as a post revel. We don't want you leaving after feast; we want you to join us outside around the fire for a post revel. This is a celebration of the Sicilian, Norman and Moorish cultures so we call out to representatives of each to show off your culture. The event is taking place at its usual home, St. John de la Salle, 8469 Buffalo Ave., Niagara Falls, NY 14304.
We have special activities inspired by Sicilian Carnivals. The A&S Competition will be based on the Parade of Giants. The Giants are to be approx 7 feet tall from ground to top and must be paraded around the site at times during the day and then through the feast where the populist will choose the winner. The populist is encouraged to offer the handlers of the Giants drink or food, as is the Sicilian tradition. As a kid's activity, children will be able to construct mini Giants on site.
Speaking of Feast, a Sicilian inspired feast will be prepared by Druegar Menschalini. A sideboard will be available as well. There will be a Best Decorated Feast Table Contest. On board and off board tables will be set up during the day to allow for decorating. Sign up for table space early. There will also be a Moroccan Coffee House open through the day. After feast we will begin a post revel outside. The site is discretely damp.
We offer a full day of tournaments inspired by the Sicilian Culture and the "Pulio di Normani" festival. Martial tournaments will include Heavy Weapons, Fencing, Youth Fencing and Boffer, and Thrown weapons. In addition to a singles Heavy Weapons tournament, a special Memorial Melee Tournament will take place in honor of Lord Broderick Wyntermayne. Martial activities will start at 11 AM. We want people to come late and stay late. Should it rain we may have to start earlier.
We invite drummers and Middle Eastern dancers to join us through out the day and into the revel. The Sicilian culture was greatly enhanced by the Muslims and it would be remiss not to have their culture present. Since it's a festival, street performer are welcome, and we ask the populist to reward them. Please bring your banners, heraldic displays and festive decorations to decorate the list fields and feast hall to make this a beautiful festival.
The Post Revel: After feast the party will move outside. We hope to capture the fun of a camping post revel. We will build some fires and we encourage people to drum and dance. Small pavilions may be set up to entertain friends. |

Agincourt and Baronial Champions
October 20, AS xlii (2007)
Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more,
Or close the wall up with our English dead!
In peace there's nothing so becomes a man
As modest stillness and humility
We invite one and all, young and old to join us for a day of fighting and feasting, arts and sciences, glory and revelry to be remembered! Our event autocrated by the talented Lord Liam MacanTsaoir is themed on the battle of Agincourt that was fought in northern France as part of the Hundred Years' War. The battle was fought on a rainy day, the feast day of Saint Crispin, in 1415 between the English and Welsh army of King Henry V and the French army of King Charles VI.
Fighting will commence with an Atlantia-style speed tourney. There will also be a Combat Archery Triathlon. There will be a Harfleur "Once More Into the Breach" Battle. Next will be the Agincourt Battle, a timed resurrection battle on an hourglass-shaped field. There will be followed by a Sack the Baggage Train Skirmish, including combat archery. Finally, we will fight multiple fight-throughs of a Tavern Brawl Battle until everyone is tired and happy.
Did we forget to mention fencing!? Fear not, Along with the Baronial Fencing Champion Tournament, we will have your favorite fencing activities and also a tavern battle, bring your favorite 'non standard' item for parrying. We've seen it all; from a turkey leg to a stuffed dog so use your imagination.
What a sad day this would be without archery, the Battle of Agincourt was won by Archers. Along with combat archery, we will have the Baronial Champion Archery competition. There will also be an opportunity to test the skills of Aethelmearc’s Archers against a fierce French Army.
Agincourt will also host the Baronial Thrown Weapons Champion Tournament and the Baronial Youth Fighting Champion, so come and show your prowess with your chosen weapons.
There will be plenty to do for the non fighter too, should you feel like taking it easy from the battle. There will also be an A&S competition with the theme being the Hundred Years War and a special Leather working A&S competition. We are also looking for kind gentles to hold classes throughout the day. We would especially like to see classes on leather working in honor of St. Crispin.
An amazing lunch and feast is being prepared as well by the very talented Lady Odriana vander Brugghe. She is said to be including both French and English Cuisine. During feast we will have a Dueling Bards Competition, to entertain the crowd and all honored guests The winner of this event will be determined by the Baron and Baroness. |
