The Siege of Harlech Castle

All fighters and combat archers of these Sylvan Lands are called to the Barony-Marche of the Debatable Lands to besiege or defend the Castle! The year is 1404, and a brave English garrison defends Harlech castle from the assault of Welsh forces led by Owen Glendower. Owen's victory allowed him to occupy Harlech as his base for the next 5 years, after which the English re-conquered this Edwardian stronghold. On April 5, 2008, the English shall once again defend Harlech against the Welsh attackers, and we shall see who triumphs this day.

For fighters, a two-man spear tournament shall be held on the drawbridge, as well as a traditional heavy weapons tournament and a competition to see who can achieve the drawbridge alive through a hail of arrows. Combat archers will be shooting down from the castle walls upon the fighters below, and there will also be a formal combat archery competition. Archers will be positioned along the ramparts, towers, and windows of the castle. Space will be provided for the populace to watch the martial activities from the parapets. Safe within the castle walls, there will be a sewing circle, children's activities, and heraldic consultation table with internet access.

The Coronation of Khalek and Branwyn

Fleetly o’er the steppe come the strong winds of change, heralding our new King and Queen, Khalek and Branwyn. Call goes forth for the horsemen to gather in celebration of Their Coronation. The Canton of Beau Fleuve welcomes all to Camp Kenan, on the shores of beautiful Lake Ontario on April 12, 2008, located at 8571 Lower Lake Road , Barker, NY 14012

Activities will include a demonstration of the Art of the Horse (marshaled by Sir Alexander, contact Mistress Irene for pre-reg information), a Mongol Arts display in honor of Their New Majesties, a kite flying competition, a Turkish Coffee House and Henna emporium, fishing (please check with reservations clerk and on-line for information on required NYS licenses), and a sumptuous side board lunch for all as well as the Last Court of our beloved Duncan and Ilish, and Coronation and First Court of Khalek and Branwyn.

In addition to the Coronation celebration, we are also pleased to host the Aethelmearc Fencing Championships. These will be run by the Sir Koredono koredono@gmail.com More information will be posted on line.

Oyez! Oyez! Oyez! The rumors of Midrealm aggression are true! For the 17th year, the Midrealm army intends to invade the southern lands of glorious Aethelmearc. Their soldiers intend to take your coal and test your steel. We are putting out the call to our fellow countrymen to come defend the land.

We beg the attendance of all heavy weapons fighters and fencers to repel the foreign hordes. Weapons masters can display their prowess at the torchlight bear pit weapons proficiency tourney held Thursday through Saturday at 10pm. The Midrealm armies will march upon our soil Saturday at noon. Fencers will experience the chance to fight on an actual covered bridge as well as a roving tournament. Thrown weapons and archery shoots will take place on our scenic archery range.

A call goes out across the Endless Hills for warriors to gather together again to fight for the glory of battle. Our Year End Tournament is April 26th, 2008. The event will be held at Moon Lake Park, 196 Moon Lake Road, Hunlock Creek Pa. 18621. The day’s activities include heavy weapon and fencing tournaments, mock wood’s battles, thrown weapons, archery, children’s events and an A&S competition.

The Baronial Champion for Heavy, Thrown Weapons and Archery will be chosen at this event. The A&S Champion will also be chosen—and the winner will be expected to participate in the 7 Pearls A&S competition at Melee Madness—so come with your best endeavors!
