Thin Line

For the Kids

"I'm BORED! There is NOTHING to do!" Have you found yourself saying that at events? Well, perhaps you should have packed yourself a survival bag before going.

What is a survival bag you ask? Well, it's canvas bag that you pack before going to an event to give you things to do when there's no activities available.

Your next question is probably what should I pack? Well, here's some ideas:

For older children and teens For the younger ones
For quiet private corners:
Walkman and headphones
Handheld electronic games and headphones

For anywhere:
Book to read
Drawing pad and art supplies
Board games
Deck of cards
Homework ;)
Quiet toys
Art supplies
Crayons and coloring books
Books

Parents pack:
Nap mat and sleeping bag
Change of garb
Snacks and drink

Another thing is getting involved. Older kids can help with washing dishes in the kitchen. There's also usually a need for help moving chairs around, or other things. If you are bored, you should ask someone in charge if there is a need for help somewhere at the event and you may just find yourself very busy and having fun while at it.

Just because your parents "made you" go to the event, it doesn't mean you have to have a miserable time. Just think of it as an adventure, and your object is to find as many ways to have fun at it as you can.
