This years College of Three Ravens has come and gone, and by all accounts I have heard, it was a very successful event. The new site that was used worked better than many of the teachers and students that I talked to thought it would, despite having to have most classes in one big room. It did not have the super crowded feeling that some winter events suffer from, which makes for a more enjoyable day.
The reservations were handled by Suzanne of Schloss Von Tannenaker and Richard von Tanner. Suzanne went right to work manning Troll that morning, and along with Lady Dubheasa inghean Dubgaill, they tirelessly checked in people all day.
Every year that I have attended this event, I'm always impressed with the number and variety of the classes offered, so thanks to Lady Collette de Paris for her work on this event, and to Baroness Roberta McMorland for pulling it all together. It's always an event I enjoy, and this year was no different.
The onsite bar had a nice surprise in it's stocking of of a Ukranian beer, which turned out to be a great ale that went well with the lunch, as well as a few American selections there are of a higher quality for the descriminating ale fan to choose from.
The sideboard lunch and the feast were both outstanding, and my personal thanks goes out to all the cooks and kitchen helpers that day, and especially to Baroness Sadira bint Wassouf and Lady Nezhah bint Saleem for the great organization and wonderfully tasty and fulfilling menu choices. Personal highlights for me on the sideboard would be the rice/chicken dish, and at feast the mirkas sausages. You just can't go wrong with porked mixed with bacon.
I went home well fed, tired, but feeling the day was very enjoyable, and looking forward to the next event.
Vivat and Bob Raef, everyone.
