| September 4 - 7, 2009 Shoote in the Wildewood Barony of Delftwood (Elbridge NY) http://www.delftwood.org/ The Barony of Delftwood is calling for all in the Kingdom of Æthelmearc who can wield a sword, throw an axe, or shoot a bow to help rescue the Captain and his crew. | September 11 - 13, 2009 Battle of Misty Highlands Shire of Misty Highlands (Pentress, WV) http://www.mistyhighlands.org/events/bomh09.shtml Come join us for a weekend of fighting, merriment, and good-natured competition at Indian Meadows Campground (67 Days Run Road, Pentress, WV) on September 11-13th, 2009. Prizes will be given to those warriors whose merit determines them to be the winner. We will also be holding a 50-50 raffle to raise general funds for the shire. Tickets may be purchased at troll. A warrior cannot live by battle alone, therefore, a scrumptious sideboard will be provided on Saturday for all in need of sustenance, prepared by the hands of Barbara du Lac (Barbara Lyons, b_lyons@yahoo.com). After a long day of battle, the bards and dancers are encouraged to take the forefront Saturday night to entertain the war weary warriors at a party in honor of Misty Highlands’21st Birthday. Come help us celebrate this momentous occasion by raising a glass and taking a walk down memory lane. And, yes, this is a WET site. |
| September 12, 2009 Bards and Bows Shire of Sterlynge Vayle (Deposit, NY) http://www.sterlyngevayle.org/ The Shire of Sterlynge Vayle welcomes all back to the new Damp Dragon Inn for Bards and Bows on September 12, 2009. This event will be held at Camp Amahami, 434 Page Pond Road, in Sanford NY. This is the same beautiful site where Barony Wars is held. (Hopefully it will be a lot drier!) The site opens at 8:00 AM and closes when everything is clean on Saturday night. Anyone still lingering after 9:00 PM will be pressed into service for site clean up. To encourage you to arrive early to enjoy the full day's activities, there will be a pancake and egg breakfast for a small charge from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. |
| September 12, 2009 Summer's End Canton of Beau Fleuve (Niagara Falls, NY) http://www.geocities.com/thecoribird/Canton_of_Beau_Fleuve.html The Canton of Beau Fleuve invites one and all to celebrate the beginning of autumn at our Summer’s End event on September 12, 2009. Our activities will include a delicious feast as well as tournaments in fencing, thrown weapons, and youth combat. For those not martially inclined, there will be an arts and sciences competition. This event will also host the Duke Morghun Sheridan Memorial Tournament for rattan fighters. This will be a weapon proficiency tournament with separate lists for pole arm, great sword, sword and shield, and two weapons. Fighters should wear the favor of their lord or lady this day to honor their inspiration. |

This wondrous event will be held at St. Paul's United Church of Christ (1024 Peach St., Erie, PA 16501). Site opens at 9 am. Site fee for the event is $8 for adults, $4 for children under 12 & children under 2 are free (non members should remember to include the NMS fee for adults). The site fee includes a sumptuous lunch sideboard. As befitting our new royalty, there will be a fabulous feast in the 14th Century French style, courtesy of our feastocrats, Mistress Judith of Kirkland & Master Creador Twinedragon. |

We are honored to announce that we will be hosting The King's Championship for Heavy Weapons as well as the Kingdom Thrown Weapons Championship. The event will be held once again at the beautiful Lake Chautauqua Lutheran Center ( no street address ) on Rt 430 in Bemus Point, NY and will include a weekend of friends, feasting, fighting, fencing, thrown weapons, archery, arts and sciences, puppet show ...did we mention friends and feasting? |
| September 26, 2009 Archers to the Wald Canton of Steltonwald (New Brighton PA) http://www.steltonwald.org/ You stand waiting, focused downrange, fingers lightly touching the string of your bow. The range is declared clear and permission is given shoot. You take aim and watch as the arrow streaks toward its intended target, striking home. The Canton of Steltonwald promises to be a place that the Archers of our Kingdom dream about as we again invite one and all to come and fling your arrows and bolts at this year's Archers to the Wald. It promises to be an exciting day filled with several roving, novelty and long distance ranges as well as the traditional practice ranges to get in that next Royal Round. We have taken steps to ensure that you have more than enough to shoot at. As well as shooting, Members of the Scarlet Guard have agreed to make themselves available for one-on-one coaching, as well as tips and techniques sessions throughout the day. So come out and enjoy a day filled with fun! |
