Dark Ages Schola and Tournament
Shire of Hornwood (Drifting, PA)

It is the Age of Arthur, the Time of Charlemagne. The great Roman Empire has crumbled into the dust of legends. The Moors have invaded Spain while the Vikings have pushed into France. In short, Europe is a bit of a mess. Only Constantinople seems safe, but appearances can be deceiving. But amidst these tides of change there remains a beacon, a light of hope and learning.

On Saturday, June 13, 2009, you may continue to curse the darkness or, you may choose to join the Shire of Hornwood and light a candle to illuminate the Dark Ages under the lamp of education.

This event will be at the St. Severin's Parish Center (no street address) in Drifting, PA. With classes ranging from beginner's "how- to" through advanced culture and history there is sure to be something for everyone.

Barony Wars and Bazaar IV
Shire of Sterlynge Vayle (Sanford, NY)

For the past three years, Baronies have met within the Borders of the Shire of Sterlynge Vayle.

In A.S. XLI and XLII The Barony of Delftwood and the Barony of the Endless Hills met to discuss trade and other "issues." Unfortunatly - two years in a row, a peaceful solution was unable to be reached, and the horns of war were blown. While the Barony of Delftwood instructed the Barony of Endless Hills in the Art of war in AS XLI, The Barony of the Endless Hills showed what quick and deft pupils they were, surpassing their teachers to reach victory in AS XLII.

With the peaceful return of relationships - in A.S. XLIII, the two Baronies were joined by the Barony of the Concordia of the Snows, from the Kingdom of the East, in hopes that with three Baronies meeting - war would be averted, and peace would continue through out the land.

After Trouncing both the Barony of the Endless Hills ( ) and the Barony of Delftwood in the days events - The Barony of the Concordia of the Snows, with 11 points - showed that for the Kingdom of Æthelmearc - a peaceful resolution might have been preferred..
