| November 20 - 22, 2009 Fiber, Fabric and Fighting VII Shire of Nithgaard http://www.nithgaard.org/events.htm Saturday the 21st will be a day of classes and workshops devoted to fabric, string, and their glorious arts. Saturday will also see an A&S display by our talented artisans! This is not a competition, and we encourage participation from all skill levels, and from all arts! Your display does not have to be related to string, nor must it be complete to be entered. Bring your newest creation, or your finally finished works, all are welcome! |
| November 20 - 22, 2009 A Plague on Your Houses (A 14th Century Event) Shire of Port Oasis http://www.portoasis.org/events.html We shall hunt, test our strength at arms, dance, feast, game and quest. Noble teachers shall abound as we celebrate the arts and sciences of the 14th century, in between our Chivalrous pursuits. Caravans and tinkers will be welcome to display their wares. Come join us for a weekend of fighting, merriment, and good-natured competition at Camp Mad Anthony Wayne, 2125 Spring Valley Drive, Huntington, WV on November 20-22th, 2009. A Boar Hunt, walk through Archery range and Thrown Weapons will test the martial skills of our Plague refugees and we may have fencing as well (if we can figure out what 14th century fencing looks like)! There will be an A&S display as well as 14th century focused classes throughout the day and we are fortunate to be visited by a 14th Century dance master, who will teach us all the finer points of that courtly activity! Additionally, there will be a quest (based on 14th Century knowledge of course) so brush up on your history and get to know the Pope! Lunch will be available on Saturday, along with a feast based on the spoils of the hunt. Please be advised that there is no nearby fast food, so if you do not wish to feast with us, you may want to bring your own provender! The site is wet. |
