Thescorre Baronial Curia Business Meeting
Tuesday, December 15, 2009
23 members were present.

Herald Report
Fridrikr reported: We still have heraldry. There were no new submissions. There is at least one application for the office.

Arts and Sciences Report
Orianna reported: We have arts. We have sciences. The topic for January’s social meeting will be cloven fruit (** I just accidently typed “feet” instead of fruit.**) 12th Night is coming up. The quarterly report was submitted.

Archery Report
Eldjarn reported: Archery is on hiatus right now and will possibly resume at Jim’s on January 17th.

MOL Report
Bronwyn reported: There is no MOL’ing to report.

Chatelaine Report
Dubheasa reported: The quarterly report was submitted a month early. The Newcomer Night was postponed, due to the weather. Unfortunately, one new member did not receive the e-mail in time and went to Matilda’s. Thank you SO MUCH, Matilda, for the one-on-one meeting with the new member. Matilda stated that his name is Mike and is thinking about being called Barnabas. He is interested in metal working and calligraphy.

Exchequer Report
Alina reported: The Barony has $4,540.20 in the checking account and $3,216.42 in the savings account.

Fencing Report
Padraig reported: We have fencing. Two or three people usually attend practices. Sometimes, no one shows up. Padraig stated he waits an hour, before leaving if no one attends.

Thrown Weapons Report
Athos reported: Thrown weapons continues, but will be on hiatus until after the Holidays. It was stated that, after the hiatus, there will be throwing unless butts get frozen.

Heavy Weapons Report
Athos reported: Heavy weapons was recently cancelled, due to the snow storm. Due to Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve taking place on Thursdays, heavy weapons practice will occur on the next two Tuesdays. Athos will check with Joe on availability of the Rec Center.



Seneschal Report
Eldjarn reported: The night of the meeting was the last night to apply for the four offices which are becoming available ~ Chronicler, Captain of Archers, Herald, and Seneschal. People are applying for some of the positions. Eldjarn also announced that Pox bids are due soon (possibly next month).



Baron and Baroness Report
Due to Katja being ill, she and Eric were not in attendance.



Baronial Election
Eldjarn reported: The ballots have been ready, but the mailing list from Corporate hasn’t arrived. Once the list arrives, the ballots will be mailed out immediately.



12th Night
Fridrikr reported: Sign up sheets are available. He asks that people also include their e-mail addresses. A lot of help will be needed to move tables and chairs throughout the day. Fridrikr stated, that as hosts, Thescorreans should do the work. Alina is taking reservations. The cost is $18 for on-board and $10 for off-board. Kids under 17-years old are half price. Phelan announced that 14 masks are completed and that there is still time to order blank masks. Fridrikr made a motion to $25 to be spent on more blank masks. Lionheart seconded the motion. It was passed with 16 to 0, with 2 people abstaining. Mistress Euriol is asking for retainers for Their Highnesses.

College of Three Ravens
Phelan reported: Kids will be preparing lunch, supervised by Kadlin and Dubheasa. A walk-through of the site (Faith Lutheran Church) will take place at 10:00am on Saturday, January 16th (not the 9th). Her Majesty and His Highness have been confirmed to attend. There are 100 seats for feast. If anyone would like to teach a class, please see Eldjarn. Mairead will also be assisting with organizing classes.



New Meeting Location
Phelan will discuss the possibility with Lyle at the Faith Lutheran Church. We would pay for what we use, such as heat. Demos could be held to help offset the costs.



Baronial Champs
Richard will be autocratting this event. It will take place at the same location as the two previous years, most likely on Memorial Day weekend. Perhaps a bid will be ready next month.



Feast of the Ancient Viking/Sergeants and Yeomans
This event is now official, as it is on the Kingdom calendar on the website. It will take place on October 23, 2010.



Pax Interruptus
We have a site and a weekend. Now, we need an autocrat.



New Signs
Four new signs are finished. They are half the width of the old signs and are lighter in weight. They are brightly colored. The directional arrows can be moved to any direction. Richard announced that he came in under budget. The signs needs to be transported to Stefan’s for storage.



Kingdom Curia
Kingdom Curia will be held at Richard’s home on Sunday, January 10th.
